Stilwell native and Cherokee Nation citizen Sydney Kimble, CPA CFE, became a business partner and a parent in 2025. A certified public accountant with Robert St. Pierre’s firm, she is the first CPA in Adair County to receive a Certified Fraud Examiners credential. She was named partner this fall, and after 28 years it is now St. Pierre, Kimble and Associates CPA.
She joined St. Pierre’s company in April 2021.
St. Pierre describes Kimble as having, “a strong work ethic, is highly motivated, and very intelligent.”
“She showed extreme dedication to her work, great knowledge, great leadership and after three years, she earned the opportunity to become a partner in the firm,” St. Pierre said.
Kimble knew she wanted to pursue a career in something that would always be needed and in which she could make a good living.

“Math was a strong suit of mine in school, but I also enjoy a good puzzle. So accounting, specifically auditing, appealed to me,” Kimble said. “It’s a satisfying feeling being able to put together all of the pieces at the end of a project, especially when there are so many checks and balances to confirm the right answer.”
At Northeastern State University, she earned a Master of Business Administration with an option in accounting.
“The requirements have recently changed, but in 2021, I was required to earn a bachelor’s degree, 150 total credit hours, 30 of those hours being specific to accounting. That’s the main reason I got my master’s degree first. I needed the hours anyway, so why not just get another degree,” she said.
Once Kimble was eligible to sit for the exam, she had to pass four separate tests by scoring a 75 or higher.
“I studied for about a year before I passed all four and it was truly one of the hardest, yet rewarding, things I’ve ever done,” she said.
As a CPA, she enjoys the work and the clients she gets to meet.
“I’ve had a chance to travel and connect with people from all over the state while working on audits,” Kimble said. “I also enjoy the diversity of what I get to do. I’m not just stuck in a stuffy office all day doing one task. I’m normally jumping from auditing to tax preparation to bookkeeping to financial consulting.”
The company is growing.
“We’re a small firm, but we’re making aesthetic improvements to our office and growing our staff and clientele every year. I’d like to be seen as a premier firm in northeastern Oklahoma and as a business that Stilwell can be proud of,” said Kimble.
In 2019 she married husband Matt.
“We recently had a first baby back in September, so on top of all the career jumps, I’ve stepped into the most important role of being a mom,” she said.
She is the daughter of Anesa (Adair) and Jerry Hooper, and granddaughter of former Speaker of the House, Larry Adair and Jan.
“Both my mom and grandpa have always been role models to me,” Kimble said.
She loves Stilwell.
“I love how grounded Stilwell makes me feel, mainly because of my family ties and how close-knit the community is. I’ve been so blessed with great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents that grew up and raised their families here,” she said. “Choosing to work, be involved, and raise my family in Stilwell helps me feel a deep connection to my family that chose to do the same.”
The holidays are always a special time, but will be extra special with a new baby.
“Favorite holiday memories are always of Christmas Eve going from grandparents’ house to great-grandparents’ and back to grandparents.
It was normally hectic, but exciting because we had a chance to see so much family in one evening,” she said. “It’s a bit more spread out now and since family members have passed on, we don’t go to as many places. But since having my son, I’m so excited to start creating new memories and traditions as the years go by.”
And her favorite family foods?
“I always look forward to my Grandma Jan’s dressing and pies. It’s not Christmas or Thanksgiving without them.
They’re family recipes passed down from her mom, Opal Eversoll,” she said.
Her best time with hobbies are outside.
“I love to hunt, especially with my family and to just be outdoors. Whether that’s hiking, fishing, or camping, I’d much rather be outside than inside on any given day,” she said.
When time allows, she’s an avid reader.
“Since I’ve had the baby, there hasn’t been a lot of free time to read other than what I find on Google when I’m searching baby questions,” she said. “Before that though, I always enjoyed the Hunger Games series. I think the most recently released book of the series was the last book I read.”
